Times have most definetely been rough to say the least, and I know how difficult it has been to stay positive in 2020. But, you know the one thing that brings me utter joy every single time I do this?

Practicing kindness.

Practice Kindness - MEDITATE: SCHOOL OF MINDFULNESS

Acts of kindness to others AND yourself are easy. Did you know that people who experience kind and loving environments, fare better? It’s true! Kindness buffers stress, so if YOU are having a stressful day, or days, offering kindness will reduce that stress! Below are 10 ways to get started, and remember: each of us has had hundreds of moments in our days to practice kindness. It only takes a moment, and I PROMISE it will quite literally change your perspective!

1.) Genuinely tell a store clerk thank you. Sometimes smiling(yes in a mask world that is hard) , will show through in  your eyes. Tell them that you hope they have a beautiful day! Trust me, it will stick with them.

2.) Send flowers, on a whim. For no reason, just because.

3.) When you are feeling down, angry; flip the script and be joyful to someone. It may feel odd at first, and forced, but I PROMISE you, you will feel better for doing it. 

4.) Be kind to yourself by taking some alone time. Set boundaries with your loved ones and tell them you need self care. Take a bath, binge a show, read a book , nap; they are a myriad of ways to care for you first.

5.) Be kind to the earth. Recycle,  Buy a reusable mug and straw, pick up litter; show mother earth she means so much to you.

The amazing thing about kindness is that it feels just as good to practice it as it does to recieve it, and one small act can change your outlook, your mental state, and so much more.
