About me

“I make the world a better place by reducing clothing waste, and making whimsical upcycled clothing & accessories for every body.”

My Story

Dramatique Designs truly started when Erin was a child. Armed with scissors and her mother’s old pillowcases she began to make upcycled dresses for her dolls, thus a creative mind and a designer was born. Fast forward ahead through a sea of fabrics, Erin now designs dramatic, colorful, zero waste clothing and accessories in her studio in Portland, Oregon.

Dramatique Designs was built on the passion and belief that safeguarding the earth by upcycling is not only unique and different; it also helps to reduce our carbon footprint on the earth. Erin is also passionate about supporting and encouraging all genders to wear her designs; if it makes you feel beautiful and special, it belongs on your body.

What does "upcycle" mean?

Upcycling is when you take a used or discarded object or material, and create a product that is often higher in value than the original. Upcycling helps the earth by reusing items to turn them into something new and unique.

Are your items handmade?

A resounding YES! My clothing and accessories are made from thrifted and vintage materials that are washed, and often mended before repurposing into something new. They often feature patchwork, hand-stitching, hand embroidery, with a strong focus on Upcycling. All clothing and accessory pieces are made by me, Erin Bass in my studio In Portland, Oregon.

Why is handmade better than shopping in a store?

Handmade is more sustainable than mass production and supports local communities! Handmade items are one-of-a-kind, personal, amazing quality, and support a tradition of skilled work.

Tell me about the genderless clothing you offer

It is important to me that everyone feels encouraged and welcome to wear the items I make. Clothing should not have an assigned gender; if it makes you feel wonderful and seen, then you should wear it!  Detailed measurements are provided for each individual piece, rather than traditional sizing. Measure yourself to see if it is a fit you like! If you have questions, please feel free to contact me.

When will my items ship?

All items ship either first class, priority or UPS depending on the weight of the item. Items ship usually within 48 business hours, Monday – Friday, excluding major holidays and weekends. Feel free to contact me via email if you wish to upgrade your shipping for faster arrival.

Do you offer custom orders?

Yes! Custom items are handled on a per item basis.Examples of items I offer: Custom quilt coats, patchwork sweaters, embroidered and patchworked denim jackets and jeans, and more!  Please contact me via email for any further information.

What is your return policy?

I take great care in creating each piece and offer very detailed measurements and descriptions on each listing on my website.
